Antonia Gama is a documentary-maker and visual anthropologist working at the intersection of storytelling and social sciences involved in filmmaking, qualitative methods of research, and teaching, and has worked an ethnographic researcher at the State Department of Social Welfare and Human Rights of Rio de Janeiro, and as UN-Habitat consultant.
Antonia holds a PhD degree in Social Anthropology with Visual Media and an MPhil degree in Ethnographic Documentary, both from the Granada Centre for Visual Anthropology, University of Manchester, UK.
After 15 years experience working as a freelancer for audiovisual companies, in 2010 she founded her own audiovisual company which has been commissioned for editing, directing, and researching.
Gama is Digital Professor of Videography at The Digital Fashion Group Academy and is currently an ESRC Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Manchester.
